A new Honkai: Star Rail leak has revealed the model of an upcoming character named Topaz. Even though update 1.3 is scheduled to drop on August 30, the game’s official social media has already confirmed two new characters that will arrive in version 1.4.
Many fans were confused when HoYoverse announced one of the characters as Topaz and Numby since it’s uncommon for their playable units to include more than one character. The main character’s name is Topaz and Numby is known as a Warp Trotter who always accompanies Topaz in her adventures. Honkai: Star Rail‘s Warp Trotters are usually special enemies that can drop tons of Stellar Jade.
A new post on the Honkai Star Rail Leaks subreddit has revealed the in-game model of the upcoming character Topaz who has officially been confirmed for version 1.4. Overall fans seem to like her design as the post reached almost 2k upvotes with many comments claiming that her outfit is very reminiscent of Eula from HoYoverse’s other game, Genshin Impact. This would not be the first time the Genshin and Honkai franchises borrowed each other’s designs as many characters from the world of Teyvat have counterparts in the Honkai universe.
When it comes to her role in the game, Topaz’s official announcement described her as the Senior Manager of the Strategic Investment Department in the Interastral Peace Corporation. She is also the leader of the Special Depts Picket Team. Recent leaks have confirmed that Topaz will be using the Fire element, and she belongs to the character that uses The Hunt path, which means that she will have single-target DPS potential but low survivability.
Previous Honkai: Star Rail leaks have also revealed that her skill will allow Topaz to summon a Wrap Trotter as a pet that deals Fire damage to target, and she has a 100% chance to apply Burn status for two turns. Enemies affected by this skill will take damage at the start of each round.
Her ultimate will buff Numby and increase its Critical Rate for the two upcoming attacks. Topaz’s ultimate will also deal additional Fire damage and receive a Speed buff for two rounds. Players should still take these leaks with a grain of salt since this character will be released in Honkai: Star Rail version 1.4 which, according to the game’s usual update schedule, should drop in the first half of October.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for Android, iOS, and PC with a PS5 version also in development.
